A bag that began as something else entirely. The front panel is cut from an original oil painting — cabbage roses rendered in loose, painterly strokes of dusty rose, deep burgundy, soft blue and moss green, the brushwork expressive and unhurried. The canvas carries the texture of paint built up in layers, the craquelure of age, the particular quality of something made entirely by hand.

Constructed from panels of aged canvas in warm grey and tobacco tones, the bag is pieced and stitched with visible seams that speak to its making. A tan leather strap adjusts via a buckle for crossbody wear, with a shorter top handle for hand carry. The interior is lined in natural cotton with a red wax seal detail — a quiet signature.

Behind The Brand

Leslie Oschmann is an Amsterdam-based artist and maker whose work begins in the markets, homes, and antique shops of Europe. She seeks out forgotten objects and brings them back to life, manipulating, recreating, and transforming them into something more beautiful and more useful than before.

Her path to the studio was a long and deliberate one. After more than twenty years in retail, including eight years with Anthropologie, where she rose to Visual Director, Leslie returned to the tactile work she had loved since childhood, when she spent her earliest years assisting her Dutch father in his carpentry workshop. That thread of craft, and a deep affinity for Dutch design, eventually led her to Amsterdam, where Swarm was born.
