Popet is a sculptural hat by UK hat maker Gil Fox. Its tall, rounded crown is worked in a fine herringbone braid that spirals up from the brim to the top. The brim has an irregular, hand-shaped line: it turns up sharply on one side, then rolls and dips softly around the back and the other side, so the hat looks different from every angle.

A small posy sits low on the crown where it meets the brim. It's a gathered cluster of millinery blossoms, buds, stamens and berries with a few green leaves, finished with a narrow ribbon tied in a loose bow with trailing ends. The weathered texture of the braid gives Popet a quiet, timeworn character, as if it had always belonged to someone.
