Our Top 6 Travel Tips, Tricks and Must-Packs
Looking forward to a stress-free holiday where your wardrobe is the least of your worries? We’ve got you covered! Here’s 6 essential Eva’s Sunday hacks to keep luggage light and holidays relaxed.
The 3:3:3 Method
Packing successfully comes down to maths. The 3:3:3 method is a fantastic method for packing fewer items and getting more options. Simply choose three pairs of shoes, three tops (shirts or tanks) and three pairs of pants, shorts or skirts for your trip and you essentially have more than a dozen outfits already when you switch up the combinations! Our Essentials Collection is a great place to start for the 3:3:3 basics with every style boasting flattering, breathable, lightweight fabric and shades that sync.
Choose a Versatile Bag
Packing a super-sized bag is an essential for not only your holiday, but the long-haul to get there. Our Geo Slouch Bag is the ultimate travel companion. Perfect for carry-on (with space to fit your laptop, a good book, snacks, a cardigan, headphones and the rest!) but flexible enough to reduce down into a smaller piece when you arrive. For evenings when all you need is keys, your phone and a great lip colour, we love to roll the Geo Slouch in half and loop the strap around the centre middle as a feature detail with the knot visible on the outside. This gives it a ‘clutch’ style you can tuck under your arm and saves you packing various bags on your voyage.
Just Add Accessories
The easiest way to extend and elevate your wardrobe on holiday is with statement accessories. They are super light weight to pack and instantly change up your look. For us, EWA Tribal Jewellery packs the most punch as they inject instant fun and individuality. When packing, we always suggest placing earrings in their original box or even a recycled mint tin is a great option for durable protection while travelling. Rolling bracelets and necklaces carefully in a scarf is also imperative to protect them on your journey.
Pack a 2-in-1 Item
When you’re not working, get your wardrobe to work for you! Packing an item that can be worn two ways is a great idea on holiday. We love The Eva’s Sunday Ophelia Shirt in White for this very reason. Part of The Essentials Collection, it is created in 100% mid-weight linen making it ideal in both hot or mild weather. The classic weave offers fantastic coverage when worn over bathers poolside and the length is both flattering and comfortable. For evening, we love wearing our Ophelia open over a tank and paired back with some linen pants for a super-relaxed look.
Mix, But Match
The best way to blow out your check-in baggage is by packing too many clashing colours, styles and patterns that simply don’t work together. More is not necessarily more when you’re on holiday, so streamline your 3:3:3 options by ensuring they are all tonally connected. Set each piece out on your bed in outfits and take a pic on your phone of each pre-planned item to refer to when you are on holiday. We suggest keeping garments muted and matching in summer by opting for white and neutral tones.
Go with Sensible (But Chic) Shoes
Shoes can be one of the biggest culprits when it comes to tipping over your suitcase capacity, but at Eva’s Sunday, we have found the holy grail of holiday shoes! The Bosabo Fleur Mule is the ideal style to comfortably take you from your day by the pool right through to the evening at dinner or beyond. Combining comfort and ease with a unique, wide leather cut strap detail and wooden sole (which can easily be cleaned with soapy water whilst away) the heel is a modest 2cm high making it a great choice to dress up or down. Heels not your thing on holiday? The Manon Sandal in Textured Metallic Bronze is our new obsession when it comes to Euro summer vibes for day or night. We adore the metallic shade that looks just as incredible with denim as it does with a dress.
